Oh how I love photographing this fabulous family! The mountains were calling for this fall family portrait session, so they joined me in Evergreen, Colorado amongst the colorful aspens. If these lovely people seem familiar, you may recall seeing them on my blog: first when Max was just a little guy and we did a fun family photos at Wash Park in Denver, then did a family photo session at the Denver Public Library, and finally when we added in the cousins for group family photos at Wash Park! This year we took the family photos on Jayme’s birthday, and had a ball as always. Max even commandeered a vintage pedal car airplane.
Blake and Jenny wanted fall mountain engagement photos that with the Rocky Mountains’ gorgeous yellow aspens. Doesn’t Jenny’s dress absolutely pop out of the aspen photos? We took their engagement photos in a special spot I’ve found and fallen in love with in Evergreen, Colorado.
Patrick and Christina (aka Chrissy) were married in the foothills of Boulder, CO at the Greenbriar Inn. I used to work with Christina in my “former life” (before going full time with photography) so this was a really special wedding for me to photograph. Christina is one of the most organized people I’ve ever met, and it all paid off as the day went off without a hitch. The DIY wedding details were perfect, from the burlap table runners and mason jar flowers to the P+C puzzle pieces for guests to sign and adorable “Here Comes The Bride” banner.
Andrea and Steve were married at the beautiful Manor House mansion in Littleton, Colorado. The Manor House is in the Ken Caryl valley, nestled up against the mountain foothills. You might remember this lovely couple from their engagement photos in LoDo. I loved photographing all the details of this wedding, from the bird cage with their wedding rings to the amazing DIY flowers the groom’s mother arranged. Not to mention the fabulous stylings of the Manor House like the draped tulle, vintage chandelier and the plush vintage couch (I’m always a sucker for vintage furniture!). A sparkler send-off down the steps of the Manor House inspired “Love” in all those who attended.
What better combination is there than travel and photography? I rode the telepherique to Aiguille du Midi in Chamonix, France, strapped on my crampons and hiked to the Cosmique alpine hut for these incredible views of the mountains around Mont Blanc.
A wheel-gripping, icy drive through Colorado’s mountains rewarded me with these majestic views of Monarch Pass and Telluride, Colorado.
Alaska has unrivaled quiet beauty and sure adventure, two things that made me jump out of bed with the morning sun. These photos were taken in the back country near Seward, where I encountered golden eagles, a black bear crossing a stream, orca whales, sea lions and (to my surprise) jelly fish! Seward is surrounded by mountains, glaciers and dreamy clouds. Here’s to a Happy New Year filled with new beauty and new adventures!
