I met Chad, India, Lauren & Bobby in Westlands Park near Denver for family portraits. We lucked out with the weather – a storm passed by to the south, providing an intense blue backdrop (while we stayed dry!).
Dan & Chelsea’s Engagement Photos
Dan & Chelsea belong on the cover of a magazine. Their smiles are unstoppable. We had such a blast with their engagement photography in downtown Denver, CO over the summer. We hit up some of my favorite LoDo locations – gritty textures, vibrant colors, urban backdrops … I love photographing in this city, especially portraits! Here are a few of the stand-outs, including a favorite shot of mine behind the always timeless Union Station.
Sometime this winter I’ll also get around to posting a selection of Dan & Chelsea’s wedding photos, which were featured on the Glamour Magazine blog. If you can’t wait ’til then, check out the Glamour-ous couple now!
CAMP USA Athlete Portraits
Paige Claassen and Blake Herrington are the newest additions to the CAMP USA climbing team. I recently had the opportunity to photograph these two CAMP sponsored athletes. We had one of the last beautiful days of fall to get head shots that CAMP will use for athlete profiles and promotion. Here are Paige and Blake, along with a few other members of the CAMP team I’ve been lucky enough to spend some time with.
Marni’s Urban Photography at Local Coffee Shop
I just finished hanging my urban photos at a new coffee shop in Five Points, so stop by! Coffee At The Point just opened this weekend at 710 East 26th Avenue in Denver. They serve local Novo coffee, Colorado’s Cottonwood Cellars wine, local baked goods … and invited (local) me to exhibit.
Here are a few of the fine art photography pieces I have on display. Some of my favorite urban photos are hanging:
- My Doors Open Denver (architectural photography contest) winners
- Scenes from Five Points
- A few pieces from my urban European travel photography collection
I’ll be hosting an Opening Night reception for the exhibit in the next month or two, so stay tuned for details. Hope to see you there!

Nov. 20th Update: There’s a great new article about Coffee at the Point in Denver’s Westword; it mentions the great old-school customer service and ambiance (“The walls are ornamented with local Marni Mattner’s photography“!).

At Long Last
Those who know me have seen my passion for looking beyond the lens and capturing the soul on the other side. After hearing from friends, family and clients for a while that I should start a Marni Mattner Photography blog, I’ve finally made time to get it up & rockin’!
I’ve been photographing for years but am just now launching my blog, so I have tons I’m excited to share … you’ll see posts from recent photo shoots as well as posts of favorites from the past. You’ll see some of my favorite places, and some of the amazing people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. At long last, here we go!
