Jack and Grace joined me with their mom Jo Anne for a photo session in LoDo. They were curious and quickly warmed up to Lodo, loving their adventure in the city – especially the upside down car by the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Jack & Grace Take Lodo By Storm
Sunday, March 27th, 2011Jamie, Jeanne and Max’s Family Portraits
Sunday, March 6th, 2011Jamie, Jeanne and Max met me at Washington Park (aka Wash Park) in Denver, Colorado on a lovely late-autumn afternoon for family photos. Max was a champ, charming me ’til the very end.
Wash Park Family Portraits
Sunday, February 20th, 2011You may remember Jacqulyn and her husband Michael from a wedding photography feature previously on my blog. I was excited to see the groovin’ newlyweds and their family again as they treated her mother to a family portrait session as a birthday gift. Washington Park (known to locals in Denver as Wash Park) has incredible gardens, so we spent the evening getting some fun family shots there.
American Classic Piano Company Photography
Monday, January 31st, 2011American Classic Piano Company is a Denver, Colorado vintage and custom piano restoration business. I recently photographed a series of their pianos, including the “Telluride” (featuring a beautiful stained glass front). The photo shoot also included capturing the detail and art of their custom restoration work.
Kyra & Joelle’s Mother-Daughter Portraits
Sunday, January 9th, 2011Kyra is incredibly animated, and every once in a while reminds me of Shirley Temple. I had the pleasure of watching her “perform” with singing, twirling and lots of silly faces when I photographed her and her mother, Joelle. Their mother-daughter photo shoot was in the LoDo area of downtown Denver. I loved how carefree she was; her big personality just jumps out of the photos.
Jacqulyn & Michael’s Cherry Creek Wedding
Tuesday, December 14th, 2010I knew Jacqulyn & Michael’s wedding would be incredibly elegant. It was at the Cherry Creek JW Marriott, with an outside wedding and ballroom reception. Every detail – from the programs to the perfectly planned color palette – was exquisite. Even the parts they didn’t plan (for instance, the colorful walls I stumbled across) were incredible. But as much as I love having beautiful things to photograph at a wedding, the best part is always the people. Jacqulyn, Michael and their families were a blast to be around, keeping me energized all day. And their reception had some of the best dance moves I’ve ever seen!
Marni’s Urban Photography at Local Coffee Shop
Sunday, November 14th, 2010I just finished hanging my urban photos at a new coffee shop in Five Points, so stop by! Coffee At The Point just opened this weekend at 710 East 26th Avenue in Denver. They serve local Novo coffee, Colorado’s Cottonwood Cellars wine, local baked goods … and invited (local) me to exhibit.
Here are a few of the fine art photography pieces I have on display. Some of my favorite urban photos are hanging:
- My Doors Open Denver (architectural photography contest) winners
- Scenes from Five Points
- A few pieces from my urban European travel photography collection
I’ll be hosting an Opening Night reception for the exhibit in the next month or two, so stay tuned for details. Hope to see you there!

Nov. 20th Update: There’s a great new article about Coffee at the Point in Denver’s Westword; it mentions the great old-school customer service and ambiance (“The walls are ornamented with local Marni Mattner’s photography“!).
