Blake and Jenny wanted fall mountain engagement photos that with the Rocky Mountains’ gorgeous yellow aspens. Doesn’t Jenny’s dress absolutely pop out of the aspen photos? We took their engagement photos in a special spot I’ve found and fallen in love with in Evergreen, Colorado.
Little Liam slept through much of his Stapleton, CO baby photography session – but we were treated to sleep smiles, snuggles and a glimpse of his beautiful blue eyes as we watched in wonder. What a sweetheart! These were special baby photos for me, because I photographed Liam’s parents on their wedding day (see Patrick and Christina’s stunning Boulder, CO wedding). There’s nothing better than seeing a bundle of joy in the arms of two people who are perfect for each other!
Marni Mattner Photography was awarded First Prize in the Open Professional category of the Colorado It’s AgriCultural Photography Contest, featuring photography related to Colorado’s agriculture. Over the past 6 years I have had the pleasure of photographing more than 20 family dairy farms for the Western Dairy Association, and this particular image really resonates for me with what I’ve seen in that time in terms of the love these families have for their work, the land and the animals they care for.
RiNo (River North) is an area of downtown Denver that is spectacular for engagement photos off the beaten path. Jim and Sarah joined me in RiNo just in time for us to wait out a downpour (a typical summer afternoon deluge). We were treated to spectacular light as the storm passed.
Jesse and Jessica had a spectacular backyard wedding ceremony at the St. Paul College Club in Minnesota. The reception in the beautiful mansion included homebrew made by the couple, a full dance floor and a great time had by all!
Britton and Nicole were married at the stunning Red Rocks Park in the Rocky Mountains, dodging brief rain showers at all the perfect moments – after their first look, after the family photos and just as we finished the wedding party photos overlooking the park. Their reception at the Space Gallery in downtown Denver was a gorgeous, and not just because of the art on the walls. Vintage buffet tables and vintage glass doors, tin cut N & B letters and so many glorious details made this wedding a dream to photograph!
Brook & Eric had a bluebird day and sweeping mountain view at their Golden, Colorado wedding last weekend. You may remember these two lovebird from their Denver engagement photos in LoDo last fall. Well, it was as romantic as ever with Brook & Eric on their wedding day! They chose not to see each other before their outdoor wedding ceremony, and I stole a photo of the two of them at either end of a staircase (they didn’t peek!). They had a Pinterest-lover’s dream wedding, with adorable details at every turn (a chandelier hanging from the arbor – which Eric made & etched their initials into!, vintage suitcases filled with goodies, a Candy Bar, handmade napkin rings…the list goes on!). DIY brides should take note, because the style was impeccable. The reception at Rolling Hills Country Club was a blast, complete with a guys vs. girls dance-off that culminated in the groom vs. the bride. After witnessing it, I can definitively say: every wedding should have a dance-off!
